I Do Not :: Top Four Best Wedding Gifts Under $75 That You Can Actually Be Proud Of

If you are like me, it seems that everyone and their effing uncle is getting married this year.   I’m not kidding, I was just invited to my friend’s uncle’s wedding.  If you are like me, again, you live in a time when weddings and wedding presents have gotten waaaaay out-of-hand.  Not only are there weddings (with freaking expensive gifts waiting to be purchased), but there are engagement parties, bridal showers and bachelorette parties, etc. etc. By the time the couple is married, I have purchased four gifts, been to Vegas and back and have sat through more boring gift opening “ceremonies” than I care to live through.  Don’t even get me started about being a bridesmaid.

I’m sorry, I love every single one of my girlfriends, but it’s just hard when I have to set aside several thousand dollars a year, just to take part in the happiest day of THEIR lives.  No offense; you’re getting married.  Almost everyone does it sometime in their life and actually, most of us will do it more than once in our lifetime.   It’s not like you won the effing Noble Peace Prize.  I tell you what, you win that fucking peace prize and then I’ll buy you the two hundred dollar garlic press you registered for.  Deal?

So since, all of these things are near impossible to actually say to someone, I have devised another plan.  A list of go to gifts that will help each and everyone of us through wedding season, year, life.

I understand that these are not gifts your friends registered for, but my theory is, if the gifts are amazing, there is a story behind them, or they have some-sort of personal touch, than you can get away with spending less money.

And now…here a list of the Top Ten Best Wedding Gifts Under $75 That You Can Actually Be Proud Of.

About MissAssets

I am not a financial expert. I do not hold a degree in Economics. I don't have a ton of money and worst of all I can't juggle to save my life, but I research my ass off everyday to earn easier, save better and spend smarter. So why not share? At age 28, I am trying to get better control over my finances and my future and I am willing to post everything I learn. Some posts are lessons, some are about cheaper ways to get expensive things and some are just quick tips on how to make your shampoo last longer (not washing your hair is always an option). My goal by July of 2010 is to be completely out of debt. Debt that I have accrued through years of investing in my entrepreneurial spirit--it's been fun, I've learned a lot and it's been worth every penny, but now I'm going to get it all back and more.
